Catching up with A&J
A:
What an exciting week this was!! I am currently 10 weeks out from my first bikini competition (April 25th, 2014). Early this week my stage shoes arrived in the mail!! So after strutting and posing around my living room realizing how quickly this is all happening I jumped online and purchased my competition suit!! That was the highlight of my week, hands down. With that said, the excitement and anticipation of my stage day approaching also stirred up some nerves. While I am truly excited, fears crept up of not being able to reach the appropriate percentage of body fat. I am currently right on track and have been giving 110% in the gym and the kitchen and I am just trying to keep positive thoughts. At the gym, I'm lifting my max weight but not much of an increase due to cutting calories. This week was unique because my friend David and I teamed up and hit the gym together every morning, even though we worked out different things, it was motivating to have a gym partner! My lifesaver this week has been the Yasso frozen Greek yogurt bar (Costco!). It is delicious and slightly sweet. Tonight I ate it dipped in almond butter it was the perfect end to a long, eventful week.
J:
My goodness! This week... Where do I begin? I'm on day 41 of my 60 day yoga challenge today and I have seen some HUGE improvements when I compare my poses to day 1. I can absolutely see the gain in flexibility and feel the difference it has in relaxing my sore muscles after a crazy gym sesh. This week I was offered a new job at OSH. After having worked for a year at Home Depot, I couldn't be more excited to be in a management position. On the downside, this means that I am going to be busier and I'm fearful of how that might affect my gym time. Ending the week on a good note, I went on a 5 mile run and worked out legs tonight. I never really had given legs the attention that they deserved, but in the last couple of weeks I've been making sure that I never skip a leg day and have been seeing my quads grow and my calves become more defined.
